Have you ever had a hard time picking between two brands of tomato paste at the store? How about choosing between a L'Oreal mascara versus a Maybelline mascara? We know the struggle and that's why we've created a new series of blog posts where we compare some of our most popular products --because not all beauty products that look similar are actually the same.
1. FOUNDATION STICK
The NYC Foundation Stick is a medium coverage stick with a matte finish. The formula is very long-lasting which makes it perfect for long days on the road. It naturally adds a layer of luminosity to your skin, giving it a healthy glow. It's perfect for oily and combination skin.
On the other hand, the NYX Foundation Stick is a multi-tasker. Besides foundation coverage it can also be used to highlight and contour. The creamy formula is mineral-based and suitable for all skin types.
2. LIPSTICK PALETTE
We've recently grown our collection of lip color palettes so you might be wondering which one you'd like to try first. The L'Oreal La Palette is an 8-pan palette with colors in all sorts of finishes. In the one palette you will find cream, matte, and highlighter. This clever palette allows you to have complete control over your look. You won't need anything else!
In the Maybelline 8-pan Lip Color Palette all colors deliver a velvety finish, but the intensity you get from each is stunning. The color pigmentation is super vibrant yet can be completely customized to the intensity you like.
Both palettes come with a lip brush.
3. BROW PENCIL
Some people say brow pencils are one of humanity's greatest creations. We agree. Having perfect eyebrows is a struggle. That's why tools like the Revlon ColorStay Brow Pencil or the Maybelline Brow Precise Micro Pencil are essential must-haves.
At a glance, these two pencils look exactly the same: they both have a spoolie brush and they're both retractable. However, Maybelline's micro brow pencil has a 1.5mm tip which allows you to draw strokes with precision to fill in specific spots in your brows. It also has a smaller brush perfect for thinner brow hair.
The Revlon brow pencil has a thicker tip so you get much more color coverage. The tip is also angled, making it easier to sculpt. The brush is bigger than Maybelline's and it will tame the wildest of brow hairs. Revlon's ColorStay formula is famous for its long-lasting properties. This pencil is waterproof and the color lasts up to 24 hours.
Choosing the perfect mascara is truly a travesty. Do you want them longer, curlier, darker, fuller, more separated, or all of the above?
The Almay i-Color Volumizing Mascara is pretty straight-forward. The formula is ultra buildable, allowing you to customize the volume and boldness. The color is highly pigmented and it comes in different options to compliment your eye color. It even has a little sparkle to it! Being an Almay product, this mascara is hypoallergenic and suitable for contact lens wearers.
The Revlon Lash Potion is full of nourishing ingredients that care for your lashes and strengthen them overtime. The color is intense and lush but not as buildable as the Almay mascara. The unique Illusionist wand specializes in coating each lash with the formula (potion ha!) completely clump-free.
Both mascaras are long-lasting, easy to use, and discontinued.
5. NIGHT CREAM
The term "Beauty Sleep" comes from the well-known fact that your skin actually "sleeps" while you do. What this really means is that when you're asleep your blood flow increases and your skin rebuilds and replenishes its natural resources. That's why applying skin products at night can give that process a boost.
The Lumene Bright Now Night Cream is packed with a plethora of antioxidants, but what truly makes this night cream stand out it's the encapsulated dose of Vitamin C. In combination with Wild Artic Cloudberry nectar, this formula is a potent skin nourishment that will detoxify, smooth, and revitalize your skin. You'll look fresh-faced in the morning effortlessly!
The L'Oreal Revitalift line is a popular anti-aging collection with high doses of Pro-Retinol A. Retinol is naturally found in our skin (it's also known as Vitamin A) but it depletes overtime. The main difference between products with Pro-Retinol or Retinol is how well most skin types tolerate it. Extensive testing has proven that Pro-Retinol has a higher rate of being tolerated by most skin types and that's why L'Oreal's Revitalift Night Cream is perfect for sensitive skin. The product works best with constant nightly use and will visibly lift and smooth your skin within weeks!
