I have very fair Mediterranean (olive) skin and the Ivory shade of Shine Free is perfect for me. But none of the light shades in the new Pure Makeup match my skin - they're either too dark or have a too-pink tone. When I contacted Maybelline they said the Ivory shades should be the same for both makeups, but they're not. I've tried other brands and they're either too dark, too oily, etc. If I can't get Shine Free anymore I might have to try someone's suggestion of Chanel makeup - but it's so expensive :( . |

Never looks cakey. Other brands so called "true" colors is a bunch of hooey. The fact that this product helps control oil & shine as well as provides coverage for those occasional red spots & wears great just puts it over the wall. I also have tried other products and they always make my skin feel greasy, no matter who makes it or how expensive it is. I love how the Shine Free makeup feels--it's not heavy or greasy, and it lasts all day. It has always made my skin look good. I too have been buying it in quantities, and hope it will last on my shelf. I have even mixed lighter and darker colors together because the beige, golden and tan colors that I normally wear are becoming harder to find. It works to mix the light and dark colors together, if necessary. I wish Maybelline knew how many people are disappointed with them for discontinuing their foundation. Perhaps someone can convince them. It's a wonderful product! |

I am so upset that Maybelline no longer make this product and to make matters worst they no longer provide any of their makeup in my shade of Mocha.
I love this makeup. I have emailed them to tell them to reconsider and have not gotten a response.
I look so good wearing this makeup and have gotten so many compliments from both men and women. I have spent so much money trying other products that does not compare, even the very expensive ones. I just ordered it in large quanities from this website so I can continue to look good for a while but then I hear that there is a shelf life. I just have the remainder of my products stored in my cool basement. There has got to be some way for us to get Maybelline to return this product in the same formula. We are the cosumers and we need to be happy.

It's the only oil-control makeup that doesn't dry my skin out AND it the only brand I can find with a shade light enough for my fair skin. The lightest color in all of the other brands still has an orangy tone to it. I called Maybelline a while back and they told me the same thing. They said the water based makeup they have out now is intended to replace the Shine Free. I tried it and hated it. First off, the lightest color was too dark for my skin and secondly, it provided no coverage whatsoever. It was thin and runny. I am so dissappointed. There is a website called planetfeedback.com I haven't used it recenty but they will send letters to the company on your behalf. If someone finds a comparable makeup, please post it here. I am getting down to my last bottle and I'm desperate! |

Now that I can't get it anywhere I have been looking for a foundation to replace it that is also comparable in price. Since I was so pleased with the previous Maybelline product, I tried Maybelline’s "Instant Age Rewind" line, but it wasn't an oil free foundation. It broke my face out and you could feel the foundation on your face. It was like wearing mud on your face all day long. It was nowhere near as great as the shine free oil control foundation. So then I tried a bottle of foundation that I found at a local Wal-Mart. The brand name is "jane." It is an oil free makeup and is okay and priced good. It is almost as light feeling as the Maybelline’s oil free. It's not near as great as the Maybelline foundation we are all missing, but is somewhat comparable. Maybe this will help some of you all find a comparable foundation. Good Luck! |

I wrote to Maybelline and they just responded to me that they were sorry that they have discontinued it only after "careful consideration of all marketing factors." What does that mean? I want it back. It is the only makeup that works for my oily skin. Please send Maybelline an e-mail and complain, maybe they will listen.

I have spent a lot of money trying to find something comparable and finally found Revlon New Complexion. Make sure it's the oil free bottle. Also, the color for this brand seems to be lighter. For Example, I used natural beige with the Maybelline Shine Free but the natural beige in the Revlon is lighter. The big down fall - it's over $10.00 a bottle! I'm a 34 year old mom who never had a problem with my skin until Maybelline discontinued Shine Free. For me, spending the extra money beats breakouts.
